This exchange is part of the Bolsas y Mercados Espanoles (BME), which is composed of Spain's main stock exchanges in Madrid, Bilbao, Barcelona and Valencia. This merger led to a larger, consolidated market that could compete on an international level. Out of these four stock exchanges, the Madrid stock market is the largest. Trading hours for SIBE users are between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM. Traditional open outcry trade is also done between 10:00 and 11:30 AM. In cooperation with Internaxx, the Madrid stock market opened itself up to online trading. The main index of the Madrid stock market is the IBEX-35, featuring the 35 most traded Spanish stocks on the market. This is the benchmark index of the Madrid stock market.
